Woman of the House
Recently my mother remarked that I was the “woman of the house”, which made me laugh. It’s a somewhat dated, totally loaded title but it still rings true. Even today, I think most people still see the house as some sort of reflection of the “woman of the house”, like it’s an extension of her. How exhausting.
