Snowbirds
This piece was inspired by “snowbirds” aka retirees who move south, most notably to Florida, in their golden years to escape the harsh winters and harsh realities of their hometowns up north. It’s a metaphor for anyone fleeing their troubles for the promise of a protected pink paradise. But alas, tragedy and disaster will come for us all, even in South Florida.
Original artwork is 20”x16”, watercolor and acrylic ink on Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper, 300gsm. Giclee prints available on archival paper.
